Know Your Average Golf Club Distances Many golfers, including beginners, want to know how far the average golfer hits their golf clubs. Well, I'm an average golfer so I decided to provide a chart based on the distances that I play my woods, irons, and wedges. 60-degree Wedge When I first started playing golf I didn't have a 60-degree wedge. I only had a pitching wedge and a sand wedge.
